This was a brilliant idea of mine that has totally bit me in the ass. I’ve been looking at the Record Store Day list of releases like I look at etsy. A lot of weird shit I like and maybe want, but nothing that I NEED. So I figured, let’s see what the hobo’s have on their wish lists. Parameters were to simply tell me the top three you would get, money being no object and a very brief why. With each submission I would think, “ohhh, yeah, I kinda want that” and have now gravitated to an absolute NEED for a few of these albums and ep’s. Shit. That means, I will be up early Saturday morning, standing in line with the rest of my family of vinyl-heads. And now, chit-chat aside, here’s what your friends at Holus-Bolus might be vying for…..
The Allman Brothers – Selections from: Play All Night: Live at the Beacon Theatre 1992 – Two words-Whipping Post
Husker Du – Candy Apple Grey – Their major label debut and it gets my vote as one of the best breaking up albums.
Tame Impala – Live Versions – Q and I saw them on this tour when they came to Houston. Ah, memories…

Otis Redding – Pain In My Heart – Otis defines soul in my book and I jump at any chance to add more to my collection.
Outkast – Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik – I believe it is one of the records that helped shape a new era of hip hop. I would be a fool to pass it up.
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings – Dap-Dippin’ (Remastered) – “Make It Good To Me” is worth the price of admission.
-Jeremy

Charles Bradley – I Hope You Find The Good Life – Did you love Victim of Love? I did, and here is more!
Slipknot – Volume 3 – Yes it’s Slipknot and yes i’m serious. Great musicians, great album.
LCD Soundsystem – The Long Goodbye (LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden) – This is one of those moments where it is clear that this will be a gem for anyone’s collection, I want it in mine.

LCD Soundsystem – The Long Goodbye – Well, duh.
REM – Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions – I grew up listening to REM with my dad, and am an unabashed fan.
Various Artists – Space Project – Weird concept, inspired by NASA’s Voyager mission, but features new music from the Antlers, Beach House, Larry Gus, Mutual Benefit, Porcelain Raft, Spiritualized, and Youth Lagoon.
Bonus pick: School of Seven Bells – Put Your Sad Down EP – I loved this set of tracks when it came out, and the following note is as good a reason to purchase as any: “Sales will benefit the foundation of bandleader Benjamin Curtis, who died in 2013 of T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.”

Phosphorescent – Song For Zula – was my favorite song of 2013, and a necessary edition to my collection.
HAIM – Forever – was a HUGE favorite of mine back in 2012 and what made me fall in love with HAIM
Lake Street Dive – What I’m Doing Here/Wedding Band – one of my new loves and I saw them perform Wedding Band live and it is just such a fun song. As far as I know this is the first release of that song.

And as if you needed anything else to get in a frenzy about, here’s the picks from our Original Hipster, Henje. He’s in Germany so he’s letting us know about albums we can’t get here in the US. We love him so….
Just Friends – Don’t Tell Me – Because it is better than DARKSIDE.
Illum Sphere – Spectre Vex – Because Illum Sphere made one of the best albums of this year so far. And because Remixes.
Various – Permanent Vacation Classics Vol. 1 – Because these are re-releases of obscure early Terje and Talabot tracks.

And now mine.
Dessa – Castor The Twin – I just adore her. If you don’t know why, you should find out.
LCD Soundsystem – The Long Goodbye (LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden) – Yup, me too. It’s priced prohibitively out of my realm of possibility, but this is a wishlist after all.
The Glitch Mob – Drink The Sea/We Can Make The… – is a perfect working/walking/thinking soundtrack and I think it would be sick on vinyl. It’s also in complete contrast to my usual.
